Hi guys, Do you know how I can get into the ballot to get a Kangaroo at Sunset coin when it comes out this year? I am not sure of where and how I should register with RAM. Thanks SB
Hi SB go to the following url for the information on what you have to do, once you are on the mailing list you'll get notified when the time comes. Just ask (to be sure) when you subscribe. http://www.ramint.gov.au/designs/purchase/subscribe.cfm
The following post was from Mighty Atom on 11/11/2011..... "Wow is it that time of year already?. I just got the RAM's November catalogue. The ballot is on again.. 1 entry per customer number, entries in by Nov 25th, Drawn on 28th. AUD650.00. International AUD590.91" Assume it will be the same this year.
The 2012 ballot has been and gone. If you subscribe to the Mint Issue, you'll be in a good position to enter the 2013 ballot
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand from the RAM that to be able to take part in the ballot for the kangaroo at the sunset, you must've purchased something from the RAM in the last 12 months.... and also have an account no. Since ballot is only via the official ballot form (no online or telephone ballot applicaations), which will be sent by the mint in late October, I think its a little too late to take part in the 2013 ballot if you haven't already signed up with the RAM. This was last year's thread; http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-18171-2012-kangaroo-at-sunset-gold-proof-coin.html
Received my Kangaroo at Sunset Ballot paper in the mail yesterday. $650 for this year's coin, which is the same price as last years' coin despite average price of gold being lower this year compared to last year. Undecided if I should go ahead with the ballot :/
Not surprised you were successful. In previous years (2009, 2010) RAM sold these for $450 and they could be resold for $1000 on ebay immediately. Every man and his dog, and wife and children, applied for the ballot. Now the RAM upped the price to $650 last year and the later years sell for around $700 to $800 on the bay.... .... so I'd assume much less entries to the ballot these days.
