Anyone have any thoughts here on the 2001d silver pandas as far as the small d versus the large d variety , like which is the more common variety ? I just noticed these and it must be a newer designation.

Thanks for the link Catseye , I do not look at the ccf very often. Well considering I submitted all 8 of those it is pretty funny to see people discuss them as fakes. Trust me they are NOT fake I have seen plenty of 2001d pandas . Well anyway I will be listing one on ebay along with some other harder to find pandas this weekend. Cheers!

A real cert# will go far in clearing up the misunderstanding.
Your picture wasn't stolen, it is simply hot linked from here.

Not really sure what the misunderstanding is , I know my picture was not really stolen since anything I post I have to assume can be linked or taken anywhere else. I have read more on the CCf forum and another forum about this and it is just getting amusing to some degree how people can jump to conclusions about this being fake and fooling NGC by all these "experts" , yet you Catseye are the only one who has actually posted here to talk about it. I would think if they are linking to the picture and now mentioning me someone might want to get on here and ask about it...

Hi JC888... I was hopeing you might chime in , I was joking about stealing the picture and I was actually referring to the ccf , what I was a little dissapointed about was taking the picture and the big discussion about it without even one reply to my question here except Catseye sending me the link to the CCF, it could be that know one over there is a member here?? Although after reading the controversy it makes these all the more interesting. If you had a sheet of these like me you can see that they dont look fake in any way , they were typical Shenzhen sealed , look to be as genuine silver as any I have seen (plating is fairly easy to tell ) and even with a slight typical tarnish starting on the very outer edge (which was removed by NCS). So the only way I could see these being fake would be someone actually minting very high quality actual silver coins and sealing in Shenzhen OMP. Is it possible ? anything is possible but I have never heard of common coins like this being minted with actual silver and would hardly be worth it. So in my opinion these are 100% legit and maybe a scarce variety.

Oh here is one cert # 3689048-002 if someone wants to share it with our friends at the CCF it looks like it might help them. Looking closely comparing it to a LG date there is a few other differences I can see in the bamboo and even a slight difference in the date (very slight) .

Here's a side-by-side photo of my 2001Ds - the MS68 small D on the left (purchased from jc888888888), and the MS69 large D on the right (purchased from Yennus). Thanks guys! :)

There's a bit of toning around the rim of the MS68, which can also be seen in the NGC photo.

I'm currently going through the specimens in the CC. There are over 500 though, so it'll take a little while.

*So far* it looks like small D is much rarer.
