Dear Master, can i confirm is this Mirrored or Frosted 2003? if based on the sealed and photos. thanks in advance cheers
but sometime i spotted and sound like Frosted...i know Frosted is coming from Shenzen Guabao... but mine looks not 'mirrored' enough??
Mirrored variety does come from this triangular(shenyang? shanghai?) mint seal However, it doesn't guarantee that coins pictured are mirrored Since Shenyang?/shanghai? mint also release frosted variety From my own experience, if the coin doesn't look mirrored enough, NGC will grade this as frosted variety.
The NGC casino has really tightened up on the Mirrored designation recently. Of the last 6 coins I sent in (ALL IN OMP) 4 were labeled mirrored and 2 were labeled frosted. All of my previous submissions of 2003 mirrored pandas in OMP were designated mirrored. I have also noticed that a 69 grade is getting much harder to recieve as my last 8 2003 mirrored pandas recieved a grade of 68 or 67 as my earlier submissions received 68s or 69s. I wish NGC would also consider the different dented arm varieties of the mirrored version.
this is my stocks...i have compared coins above with Shenzhen Guobao...apparently coins above are more mirorred and not frosted...but when i compared to other Mirrored (photo) ...coins above sound not mirrored enough..that why i m puzzled now..
You will just have to send them to NGC for grading and In my opinion they are mirrored , but these will drive you crazy! other than the Shenzhen which are obviously frosted. Just make a note in the variety/ country section "mirrored bamboo" .
A dented arm variety? what is that? I picked up a 2003 mirror for $130 and im guessing that is a good deal?
Can you take more pics? The pandas are in a package in which the mirrored coins would normally be in...
