And so when you hit 101+ years of age, you need to use leverage to get over 100% gold in your portfolio.

Or short silver by 1% =\

EU Says It Won't Meet January Deadline to Implement Basel III

Jim Sinclair's comment on the above: "Regulations? What a waste of time because any that threaten the present camouflaged weak banking system simply will not happen."

But implementing Basel 3 is more than regulations - it's legal obligation (which they proceed to ignore). Anyway now I'm hoping these delays are a ruse to get gold down so they can buy up bigger stashes. Time will tell...

Well, I saw Prof Belke talking on Bloomberg today (outside CBA in Brisbane - hows that for irony!) and he was making a case for gold as a reserve asset to leverage sovereign debt.

    http://www.gold.org/media/press_rel...cked_bonds_offer_an_alternative_to_austerity/

The hilarious thing about it is - hasn't gold always been seen as a reserve asset? :|

That aside, the fact that economists in the eurozone are honestly talking about using gold backed bonds to leverage debt is frightening to say the least.

Thank God I'm living in Australia at the moment! :D

It keeps you warm on a cold winter's day! We drink mulled wine and hot spicey cider in the winter.

When I came to this country I ordered a cider in Brisbane, a capital city, the barmaid stared at me blankly (not uncommon) and asked if I had ordered a lager?

I said "No, cider, apple drink..?",

the barmaid said "Oh, you mean a Strongbow?"

    "Close enough!" says I.

She proceeds to bring it out in a tall glass full of ice with a straw!

If that had happenned back in the UK, one or both of us would have been set upon by the rest of the patrons, and quite rightly so.

Edit to add: Gold's gone up a bit! In a pathetic attempt to show my post is on topic...

Nah- you can refrigerate it. It's tasty either way. I highly recommend 4 packs and above as moorish is something of an understatement.

Try it, love it, then imagine just how GOOD it would be as a cask ale if it were still made (thank you globalisation)

    Anyway... GOLD and stuff.
