We know gold and silver are money so I was just wondering what peoples opinion was on copper. It has been money in the past, do you see it coming back into play if our current monetary system collapses? I think copper is under valued at the moment, In mid-2006, an ounce of gold fetched roughly 200 pounds of copper; today it's nearly 500 pounds. Penny for your thoughts
There's about 5kg postage would be a killer ,or do you just want the shiny one ? I think Peter Strich's has small bag lots for $3 for the shiny ones ,I'll grab some more on Tuesday
Yes, there is but still there intrinsic value is way below their face value, where as our old 1&2c are worth almost double their face value :/
Copper just like Gold and Siver, is a type of metal which value fluctuates. I don't understand the question "is it money". What does that even mean....sheesh. BTW we all know its just tradition anyway.
There is a gas station in Ashland, Oregon US, that is charging 15cents for premium gas!!!!!!!! As long as you pay with PRE 1965 us silver coins!! That's right... Silver IS money!!!!!! You only have to pay 15 cents a gallon! if you have 90% silver coins. But if you pay in cash(trash) you have to pay $3.89!!! In the USA, the founding fathers demanded (the constitution) that ONLY gold, silver, and copper Be used as money. Fast forward till today, and the banksters have tricked us out of our real money! Into paper cash... Cash is trash! USA is so broke that we can't even afford to have real copper in our pennies!!!! So YES copper is worth more than the paper cash/trash!! You can clearly see why our founding fathers, founded our money in real gold, silver, and COPPER! ...NO INFLATION/real money....means gas would still cost .15cents TODAY!!!!!
You guys need to reawaken your founding fathers spirits, principles and values and force them on that Government for the people. How is it that Governments around the world can so badly miss represent their own people like in the USA & OZ,got me stuffed. Love the Declaration of independence,i could read that over and over and over again. REDBACK
I remember whem it cost 10.000$ per tone , now 7747 $, best choice is siver and nr 2 is gold. There is much wolfram in the gold fake gold bars and coin. Silver only big bars like 100 oz are dengerous. Copper is not so popular and if u have it already keep it and if not spend your money on silver/gold coins minted by gov.
When the inevitable happens and paper money becomes worthless do you think people will accept copper coin as payment or only gold and silver? I mean they are all a finite resource but copper isalot more plentiful than gold and silver so more people are going to have it.
Copper is just another industrial metal, it's only value is in transferring heat or electrical signals or when it is traded for stinky fiat. http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/88179.html
Re: Kyosaki's "Cash is Trash", it happened well before 1971. The US has always used a fractional reserve banking scheme. You'd be hard pressed to find a system (historically) that didn't inflate money supply.
Pretty sure I saw a list of Aussie coins showing metal content on this forum once. Damned if I could find it.
