Because every time I attempt to order online from the Perth Mint for an item that will have a limited release, i add it to my cart, try to submit my order and then get denied. And that's doing it within the first few minutes of the release. Then I get an email a few days later from them stating 'oh we noticed you have items in your cart, can we help you?' and that just further irritates me. So I'm shocked I was actually able to get 1 with the limited mintage of 1000. I know many have issues with how they are handling mintage amounts, and I completely agree, but this one is going to appreciate. I went crazy for dragons and quickly realized how saturated the market is for them so I didn't want to do the same with snakes. I don't need 10 different colored snakes, square snakes, ANA coin special snakes, 1 oz, 2 oz, 5 oz, Asia release, etc, etc. etc......

Just noticed that the dragon of legend and 2 oz lunar set are unavailable at the mint and the other releases are still available so i think i made the right choices.

Perth Mint can shove their coins firmly up their turtle hole. Their lies on limited mintages has made me decide not to be burned with them. I'm buying low premium bullion coins and high yielding shares from now on.

Do you guys think the dragon of legends coin is sold out at Perth Mint already? I'll be gutted if it is! I really dig its design!
Weird that it's not available on any other sites though...

Hey, I like it, it looks awesome! But it's way over priced in my opinion. I would love to buy a set but I don't think it would hold its value with what the mint is doing. Plus even though i collect numis, I'm more of a bullion person myself.

Yeah the all the released coins this month are over priced. The coloured typesets are dying a slow death, you cant sell any of the Snake releases for a profit (expect perhaps the 1oz proof).

So as it stands this is the situation. If you buy a coloured coin from the Perth Mint today you will immediately incur a loss (paper loss) of probably 10%-20% depending on the coin. Not really a good investment !

Buy shares today, do you immediately take a 10-20% hit? NO! If you buy silver bullion or gold bullion do you immediately take a 10-20% hit? NO!

So many better alternatives to investing for a profit than the Perth Mint's coloured metals program. In fact, I'd say the coloured metals program is a net loss maker - you are much more likely to cop a capital loss than profit buying into them.

I am shock it sold out especially with all the noise about Perth and its mintage. So why should Perth care about mintage when even with people screaming and shouting at them, it sold out?

I brough the budgies (I like it a lot more than the first bird), the 3 headed dragon and the summer coin. The summer coin is actually selling quite well. I like the display case and to me, the coin itself looks nice.

As much as we like to pay bullion price for the numis coins, it will never happen.

that's why they keep doing what they do because people buy it, all the stacker's on this forum is .00001% of sales they don't care what we think, simple really.

100% right....I work at the casino, and whenever a new game is released with a higher house edge and afew people complain I always say its not my fault, its all the idiots still playing.

Also isnt it just the bullion coins being reminted? I mean it's still bad but as long as its not numis stuff like poofs n what not... Or have they? ( hope I don't sound like an idiot )
