Thought it was a joke, until I watch the video. Holy Shit. http://bodyodd.nbcnews.com/_news/20...-silver-will-turn-you-blue-and-heres-why?lite
Argyria is a real condition - interesting that most of the hoax claims are from sites spruiking colloidal silver. Not to say that ingesting colloidal silver automatically results in the condition, but it is apparently a risk particularly with home brew concoctions.
The dude did it wrong, he ADDED salt to it. All you need is distilled water and obviously silver. I wouldn't take this on a regular basis only try it if you're sick.
Apparently Gold was also used medicinally some time back for treatment of Arthritis and other ailments that led to a similar condition to Argyria, called Chrysiasis. Symptoms are grey skin instead of blue. Not as many cases on the planet nowadays. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysiasis
It's not necessarily a hoax... I know that eating certain foods as well - modifies sin color. My question is: will this last forever? The guy might remain blue forever and that's horrible! He might be stuck with the alien looks... But perhaps his girlfriend actually likes it! We know that silver is antibacterial... yeah... but: silver might actually kill beneficial bacteria that live in us - did anyone ask that question?
The proper way to make colloidal silver it to use pure water with a dash of aluminium free bicarb soda for conductivity and only use 99.99% silver rods NOT sterling and should drink the batch no longer than 24 hours after making it.
Hes not as it was proved that this was a hoax yes the condition is real-- this guy is 100% fake though just trying to get his 15 mins of fame.
What trips me out is that he must have noticed himself gradually going blue and decided it was for the best to keep on going with it
I heard it was him using 90% junk.. that was his mistake using EG: Morgan/peace dollar.. needed the 999 fine to prevent.. but YES.. it was due to it being a home made job and not understanding that he needed pure silver to do it properly 1for1
Papa smurf, is that you? I wonder how many ounces they will get when he's cremated. Maybe they'll need a metallurgist at his cremation / refinement. At least his stack is safe.
I have been thinking of giving this a go ( after discussing with my GP extensively) because I have heard it works wonders, even making it yourself is extremely simple. Only I probably wouldnt use salt or baking soda and only have it about once a week. I dont know I have to more research, especially if I am thinking about drinking the stuff
This is true. A collegue of mine once got hold of 80kg of carrots for 10 bucks - said he was going to save money the healthy way. He ate nothing but carrots and drank carrot juice for a week. Slowly over the course of a week, he turned orange and got sick. Ended up in hospital with carotene poisoning.
Dont know but you need to drink a bottle of black sambuca & see the colour of your stool the next day if you want a fright
