Report shown on Channel 7 Australia 22/10/12 Spoke to Perth Mint - Toured the Factory in China making the fakes, minimum purchase was 300 1oz fake bars, also he stated they made other replicas of recognised gold products - basically a 40 second spot Nothing new but now it is hitting the presstitute main stream media - Read about this earlier in the year with fake krugerrands on alternative news sites - ones that are still not blocked via the commonwealth government of australia. Anyone else in Australia see this? I am gathering that this was a propaganda point on not to buy gold? Regards TP&CS
yup, i've seen it. they made it manually . i hope someone in this forum can show us the different, a little bit scary........ it looks like the same on TV.
Here's a link http://au.news.yahoo.com/video/nati...89b73447/evidence-of-gold-bars-counterfeited/ To me the sound of the bar/s is too high pitched, but I guess if you bought it from the net you wouldn't know until it was in your hand.
I have seen 'guns' where they shoot a laser or something into the item and it gives you a readout of the metals in the item. Of course anyone dumb enough to buy gold bars off a random guy on ebay deserves to be burned.Suck it up and pay a little premium for the extra security is what i do, it ain't worth the risk.Like the forum article on here a couple months back about the guy selling a 10oz gold bar on gumtree - i mean come on!
Counterfeit Aussie gold sold in China http://au.news.yahoo.com/latest/a/-/latest/15182799/counterfeit-aussie-gold-sold-in-china/ 300 Fake Perth Mint Gold Bars Discovered in Australia As Chinese Gold 'Forgery Factory' Uncovered http://www.silverdoctors.com/300-fa...ia-as-chinese-gold-forgery-factory-uncovered/
Sad when even the precious metals media can't get it right. 1. The bars were in China, they weren't "discovered in Australia" 2. The bars were Kangaroo Minted Bars, not "Perth Mint Kangaroos" which is the name of the bullion coins produced by the mint.
No, but the 20 and 50c coins from around 1:40 - 1:43 definitely are. Exactly what happens if you produce and sell counterfit legal tender of another nation under international law I wonder? No two ways about it, these people are screwed. Not only will Perth Mint be chasing these people down, but also the Australian Federal Police. Through history, such acts as these constitute an act of war. I've no doubt these people will face extremely harsh penalties and the Chinese government will be most keen to co-operate. Note where they were selling this stuff as well... EBAY
