Out of interest, where do they get their "List Price" for the coins they sell?
Saying that the list price for the Tiger is: $449.95. Seems a bit of a stretch!

I think that Talisman wants to fool the buyers, letting them think they are buying a coin with a big discount, and to make that they pump up the price and then discount it (even if the coins are still overpriced). For me the only "Official Price" for PM coins is the one on Perth Mint website.

I suppose Talisman and other retail outlets charge full retail price. Maybe Talisman only have 5 or so coins left and couldnt care if they sit for 2 or 3 years with a $399 price tag with no sales - the presence of the coin available for sale makes their business seem as though its got plenty of stock. Nothing worse than an items disappearing from your online store or having to put up the "out of stock" sign - makes it look like your business isnt of much size.

Well, depends... when PM coins on Perth Mint website are unavailable or out of stock within hours from issue time, for me is not a sign of a small business, I see that as a huge number of customers (and selling strategies too of course).

So I jumped on Downies Facebook page yesterday arvo and noticed that their cover photo had changed to this:

I know it's probably nothing, but the similarities between the packages from the Wedgy and Tassy Tiger are pretty close!

The only thing that confuses me here is what the hell a "Mortimer" could be, if it is indeed linked to the E&E series... anyone have any ideas? They also commented under the cover photo that "October 22nd all will be revealed!", so it ties in with the release date!

    The plot thickens!!

I thought Mortimer was the name of that relly old turtle that was at one of the east cost zoos. Didn't it die recently? Or am I getting my turtles confused with my great uncle?

    Too many P's, not enough M's ;)

But maybe there is a Platypus named Mortimer? Hang on, are Platypus/Platypi even endangered?

    Edit

Perth have revised their web site again!

    Now it says:

The next coin in this popular coin series will be available in September 2013 (Was October 2012).

    http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalogue/endangered-and-extinct.aspx

That's the third change! F if I know what's going on!

Oh the penny dropped I thought the next coin was deadly and dangerous coin, Mortimer is a freaking Tassie devil in a nature reserve thing that Downies is sponsoring or something.
    It a TASSIE DEVIL
