probably at that pricethat is pretty high ,but market moves happen and usually before you realize it it is too late ,I certainly think the horse is out of the barn as far as super cheap MCC and silly low auction prices ,I have been buying at prices lately that I would normally not pay a few month,s ago
Same here. A few months ago I was winning with bids at 15%-20% below the PCGS or NGC price guides. Lately I have had to raise my bids to at least the level of the NGC/PCGS price guides if not a little more.
So ok folks ,when we crown Yennus KING PANDA ,we should hang this around his neck at the innaugaration,a little garish as they say in the UK but fit for a king!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/24K-PANDA-C...p8ONIhwsHF7CsrGeYDPNRLE=&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

that coin was spot plus $50 to $100 6 weeks ago.............. I think a lot of it has to do with spot gold surge and people not wanting the train to leave the station on them so to speak I have to fight off those feelings myself But I can tell you IMHO this move up is very real ................ I was quoted yesterday by a dealer I have done LOTS of business with, sit down folks 2002 10 count sealed panda sheet 10y silver $125 usd per coin 2004 10 count sealed panda sheet 10y silver $155 usd per coin again this is a guy I do lots of business with and who always gives me very fair prices.
Here is a 2005 Beijing panda I have listed. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/221138447509?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_122wt_61
Shill bidding or market price manipulation at its finest? The last few sales have been in the $140-$150 range again. Even Michael/pandamoneya has a Buy It Now listing for around $170. Doesn't make sense why someone would bid it up to the high $290s-$300s.
Looking at those two 2001D auctions, it looks like they both had a common bidder [n***f(49)], who started bidding when the auction hit the $140-150 mark. It's probably nothing more than someone desperate for a 2001D, or ...? There certainly has been some strange auctions recently, whether it's a conspiracy, or people reacting to the recent increases in PM prices, or a belief Panda prices are about to explode, or ...?
Lets not get paranoid here As far as the 2001D is concerned, 12-18 month,s ago a discussion started about Undervalued Panda,s ,At that time the 2001d was 100usd ms69 I said then and will say again ,one of my picks for undervalued I just sold one to a good customer for 150, not because I thought that was the market ..because he is a great customer and he wanted it for his collection and we wanted to cut his shipping cost down by adding a few coins...... when you look on E bay for a 2001D ,how many do you see for sale ?? 4? 5? .when this coin breaks out ,you would have wished you bought it at 150 My good friend Yennus has some conserved at 150 ms69 last time I looked That is a steal...........IMHO ( I hope he does not mind me saying I just bought 5 from him and gladly paid full asking price) why? I believe in the coin and love the design , i know I cannot buy them raw and grade them at that price ,incredibly hard to find raw for a decent price , they are just not around........ next stop for the 2001D 250 just my opinion.......... pick #2 ALRIGHT DONT LAUGH 2009 30TH ANNIVERSARY IN MS69 300,000 MINTAGE ,they are a steal out there best bullion /numi play around IMHO why would you want to buy a 2012 ms 69 for 60.00?? ++++ the 2012 has a mintage in the millions
^ Me paranoid?.. what!?.. who said that? I really like 2001/2002 design.. I can't seem to collect enough of them, hence I notice when the price jumps. They do seem to be a lot scarcer than some far more expensive Pandas.. so I'll keep snapping them up whenever I can (the 2002 is the cheapest of the lot) Can I suggest yet another bullion play? Any MCC that isn't a Panda, yes there are a few exceptions to this rule, but there are regular listings of scientific & inventions, endangered species, etc going for not a lot more than spot... all great designs, some with very low mintages. (a third of the next batch of coins I'm sending to NGC are non-Pandas MCCs)
The question would be why is this Chinese Dealer selling this coin on ebay?:/ Shouldn't he be able to find one of those rich mainland Chinese collectors to sell to in China?
Highlly unlikely. Anyway look at this listing 1992 1 oz Double Sealed Proof Panda sells for $841.88!!!!! http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1992-China-P...4660411?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item1e735f8bbb
no rhyme or reason to this market?????????????? just watched a conserved pf69 1996 proof go of for 377usd a bargain , and then this 1992 goes for 841???????,and not even OMP ............. imho lucky to go ms68 ,as it has a slight head rub
OOPS............... JUST LOOKED AT THAT COIN AGAIN ....look at the obverse(temple side) it is a TORCH version ,THATS WHY!! 841.............
