This German based collector wassergeist recently was generous enough to share images of his MCC gold/silver stack on China Coin Forum. Then he sneaks in this image of some of his Perth Mint Lunar coins. I now get a sense of how hard core the German market is like with precious metal investing and collecting. http://china-mint.info/forum/index.php?topic=6487.0 I found one of the thread comments quite insightful. "Many collectors buy one or a few of the same coin, you buy the whole mintage." courtesy of China Coin Forum That is two 1 kg 2000 gold Dragons in the right hand corner.
Nice stuff but dare I say, low premium gold coins would be the way to go from now on? The collector market for gold lunar is shrinking as many people are priced out by rising gold prices. Just my thought !
Am I the only one to think that for all the wealth he has in hand right there, he has to be one of the most fkn stupid people I've seen in the stacking community? Anyone remember this? http://www.resourceinvestor.com/2011/02/23/robbers-make-off-with-750000-in-silver-bars This guy has over 4x as much stuff, held on a private residence in a wooden cupboard and tells the entire world he has it...
