Insured shipping is expensive for a couple of coins. So you go the other way and think order as many as I can, then all the other fees come into play. Catch 22!
Here is a bit of an update on these awesome looking rounds. These are going to be hot and it looks like they will be capping mintage at 50,000 As of the 27/09/12 they had sold 33,176 oz, that is over 1000kg of silver in 3 weeks
Slight delay on the delivery of these. They've got a new sculptor in as they weren't 100% happy with the way the coin turned out.
i reckon this is real fugly! How in hell can you compare this crap to a PM lunar coin? IN DEBT AND DEATH THEY TRUST? I would be embarrased to have this junk in my collection? Obviously designed by someone smoking too much hooch! "we decided not to put an artificial dollar price on it some numeric value of what it's worth...." Finds it amazing that the ASE has $1 on it? "Finally you will no longer do you have to have to play Orwellian mind games to understand that you are buying a silver coin for the 1 oz. .999 fine silver instead of the laughable $1 they imprint on the American Silver Eagle. " They think it is a coin! This is junk rubbish silver. Don't get caught up in the hype for a cheap crappy silver round! You will be far better off buying 3 round 50's. "This beautiful thing.." FMD!!
With the price drop I was about to order 10, but I am not mailing a check to anyone. Their site says all major credit cards and PayPal but that doesn't have those options, and I'm not phoning that in. I'll buy Eagles.
They didn't end up fixing the kerning on the bullet/shield side. By the looks they've spaced it evenly around the top corners of the letters. That would work fine if the letters were all the same; AAA etc. But it looks wrong with the top of the V close to the bottom of the L, but the top of the V a long way from the top of the E
I agree, I don't get it at all or the stupid messages it's trying to convey. Poor design, poor quality and overpriced.
Agreed. And the price they sell this "round" for is actually higher than the coins (government mint) when they both have the same weight, give me a coin any day
This is a niche product so if you dont like it, you are not the intended market.. its not designed to appeal to a mass base and evidently it does not. I really like it and think that compared to buying a hideouis PM PVC coated coin for $110 the round is an ok buy... more a round for the gun toting libertarian in your life and a novelty .. not to be compared to generic bullion like a buffalo and scottsdale etc that a stacker would already have a large amount of.. this is more a round to get a few of. RE: the message, the meaning - Its fine, easy to understanding and quite deep but also appropriate given the depictions. Why should COINs be worth more anyway? Esp in Australia.. why would we actually pay more for a silver item if it has the QEII on it or $1... i think we have been conned by that one for real! Dosent that just facilitate confiscation (as all legal tender coins are owned by the IRB -- they even say IRB on them). Do the IRB own the QUEEN, my Silver? or the Queen and all my legal tender? look under the queens effirgy.. youll see INTERNATIONAL RESERVE BANK! I do remember reading its there property.. its just in your possession.. i know there is an argument that LEGAL TENDER is safer (from confiscation)... but to me that dosent ring true. 1for1
I believe IRB refers to Ian Rank-Broadley, the designer and sculptor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Rank-Broadley
Did he design all the decimal coins in all RB countries.. as they all carry the IRB.. is this the QEII effergy you are making reference too? If so then i guess that does explain it. OK - that checks out.. thanks for the correction... one less conspiracy to think about. this guy Ian has been around for a while.. thats one famous portait on half the coins in the WORLD! 1for1
While they might not appeal to all, the sales figures dont lie. As far as sales per oz in a 6 hour time frame, it has gone head to head with the perth mint 1oz snake. Requests for these rounds has not stopped. Even with the premium they sold faster than pretty much anything we have bought. Love them or hate them, sales wise this product has huge demand which leads to short supply, which in turn drives premiums. As an investment leave out the emotional side and look at market demand. Another 280oz would be sold in less than 24hrs at premium.
