Some times they come for the tax a few days after delivery. It depends on the parcel delivery company. Which one did the delivery?

That's so lucky. I once bought a 1 oz gold coin from APMEX and FEDEX were the parcel delivery company. My package got intercepted and I received a phone call from H&M Customs advising that I had to pay 20% VAT before it would be released.

I told them we don't pay VAT on gold here in the UK and was subsequently told they will look into the matter. A few days later my parcel arrived.

    I've not bought abroad since.

Ahh you may not have got away with this, FEDEX sometimes send an invoice after delivery. I think its probably 50% either way, wait a week and see what happens.
