Hi All, Since I began researching physical metals and signed up here, I thought I would share my first silver stack acquisition. I am taking delivery this week of my first (of many) precious metal purchases; I am starting with 1000 oz of silver. I'll work to obtain a few more thousand ounces in comming weeks depending on availability of supply. Will (if i can figure out how) post some piccies, though for now I'm sticking to 1kg bars and a few smaller units to make up the 1000 oz, so it won't be the most fascinating thing to look at. One query though, how do you guys store/organise Stacks of Silver? Because at the rate i'm wanting to acquire it, it could end up being quite a large box of metal... I never thought i'd be buying physical metal, but thanks to the alternative media and websites such as this one, I'm sure that this silver will be a good investment and hedge against fiat currency devaluation. Happy Stacking! FluffyWesties
It's not to wise to disclose this info on a public forum. That's my opinion anyway. Good luck and happy stacking!! P.s you made a good choice going for bars, max metal for the money.
Heya All, Had a couple of people asking me, it's going straight into a vaulting facility I already have a relationship with, not under my mattress I hope i didn't come across as bragging or overly exhuberant, it just took so long to get the SMSF set up, the legals and paperwork then get all my disparet super funds all fixed up, then consolidated, then transferred (with mountains of forms at every step of the way), then coverting fiat currency into physical meta, I was suprised at just how much paperwork I had to go through and all the forms that needed to be done. I just got really excited about my first deilvery and thought i'd let fellow metal stackers know, i've been a long time reader here on these forums and what I read inspired me to finnally make the decision to finally invest in metals. -FluffyWesties
Not a good idea throwing that info out in public. But you're doing a lot better than most here, who don't have more than ten ounces
Well done , search old posts on storage , lots of helpfull info with no need to tell people you're going to use it as ballast in your sail boat or bury it in the garden . Then use it as ballast in you're boat or bury it in the garden.
+1 Or at the very least prudent - you'll get robbed if your not careful - you're on the internet! for goodness sake
Welcome to the alternate reality of real money! If you are buying in bulk quantities, btw, you might want to consider throwing in a monster box or two into you purchase schedule. There is something very appealing about having some coins in your stack ... you know, its a bit difficult to break a kilo bar for change. At least, that's how I used to feel before I struck a reef on my way to Stacker Island and lost it all to Davey Jone's Locker!
I've tried to take out my super to buy more but they don't let you have it. you need to be unemployed for 6 months and be financially crippled then they let you apply for maximum of $10,000 before tax so you get about $7000 so I rounded up my bills, sent in the application and got it, ended up buying 2000 x 1/10oz scottsdale fractionals andf 6 x 1g gold bars. need to wait until next year to try it again. I hate super, if I need super when i'm 70 to live then I feel I have failed anyway.
All this fractional stuff includes huge premiums! I recommend that you talk to one of the sponsors here to educate yourself regarding future value and what is the best to buy now. You're currently buying at, I guess, around $50 an ounce when spot is way below that. Fractionals is a very expensive way to buy imho.
This was my understanding too until recently when I saw some 1/10 oz Scottsdale rounds going cheaper than their 1 oz counterparts (per oz) on one of the sponsor sites. The Scottsdale rounds were the cheapest 1 oz silver on the site at the time too. But I'm sure this is the exception, not the rule
yes, tell us your stories, that speak inside, go out and buy that silver bullion... that part is most interesting to share
