I am starting to get interested in some of the large Medals they are such nice works of art and I have a few questions.

Does anyone know what kind of corrosion , spotting , environmental damage ect. that occurs on these medals over time and does slabbing them deter this kind of thing?

Does anyone know if there are any good sources for these type medals in The USA or are they mainly available in China? is there much interest in these outside of China?

And does anyone know of any online research sites that are in English to look into these medals?

    Thanks for any help!

Thanks SF , I remember looking at some of that I will have to browse through when I get time , does it cover most of my questions?
I was also wondering why they are so expensive on release , $100+ is that usually close to the cost from the mint or is it dealers marking them up?

If you do speak Chinese, you can find cheaper source in China. Much cheaper. Compared to silver medal, brass medal is a huge profit business. The cost of material of brass/copper medal is cheap. Brass medal only become the hot collectible/investment these 2-3 years in China.

I will go China in Oct to meet the supplier and see if i can source the nice design, nice theme brass medals at nice price to sell at ebay or not.

Personally I would go with the better quality rather than best price , or best price and quality . I have not dealt with Luckmoneyro, maybe similar price, who has the best quality?

Their price in China maybe different, but the price at ebay cant not be too much difference. Who is going to pay higher price for same quality? haha.

Not sure if it is just a coincidence, circulated Fen coins made of Aluminium (yet another cheap material) also enjoyed a huge price jump in the past couple of years.

When the market is crazy, mintage is irrelevant. I don't know how many people will get burnt. It sure is a profitable business now.
