Hi Argentum, sorry, I'm not familiar with this one.

If you can get a close up on the writing on the gold stick, I might be able to glean more info.

    The first part is:
    "22K Made in China"

The following parts I can't quite make out the characters.
xxx ... *Could be* "Good quality 3rd Series something..."

all i've found on nt is 3 types of these gold vault protectors i mean for diffferent years. The guy thats offering it to me was into gold in 1970s so its a good chance the gold coin is from that period ; i'll try to get a better picture. Even if it tests out to be gold not sure if i should get it cause if i cant find it on the net and noone here knows about it probably not worth it right?

22K PRODUCT OF CHINA THIRD-GENERATION FINE WORKMANSHIP (UNREADABLE)

Third to last character is faint, but appears to be 'money' which in this context probably refers to the 'cash' coin design.

The design of the coin is an imitation of ancient 'cash' coin, with the square dump in a round coin. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Chinese_coinage)

It appears to be made as a jewelers item, rather than a mint coin. Made to be worn as on a chain, with the chain going through the square.

the coin weighs 35 grams according to the seller; I'm guessing it should be 34 grams to be 1 oz of pure gold since the coin is 22k. here is another picture of that strip

Generally speaking... 22K products are not as popular as 24K products in China.
