Hi guys, Was at the markets on the weekend and found a guy selling pennies and half pennies. I bought 13 pennies and 7 half pennies off him but dont really know what they are worth. Only got them as he was selling at what I thought was a reasonable price. They are all in ok condition with some a lot better than others. Would like to know a general price if anyone with the knowledge can share? Half pennies: 1926 - has Soft (something) written on the card 1927 1963 - has UNC written on the card 2 X 1949 - one has Filled Die written on the card 1951 - has PL on the card 1953 Pennies: 1926 1927 2 X 1929 2 X 1933 - one is in a card and has lol written on it? 1934 1935 1936 1939 2 X 1940 1942 Any info on general price for these coins would be greatly appreciated. I used to dig heaps of these when I was out detecting. They were very, very common finds for me in areas with age. I have about 100 pennies and 50 halves in a box somewhere... As mentioned, unless they're key dates, they generally have little value beyond collectable value or their intrinsic copper content.
they all look in good fine condition 1926 halfpenny - $1.00 4.132 million has Soft (something) (strike)? written on the card 1927 $0.75 cents 3 million 1963 - Perth mint $1.00 44 million 2 X 1949 - 20 million $0.75 cents one has Filled Die written on the card (error coin) $5-$10 1951 - has PL on the card "London mint" 6.9million $0.75 1953 23 million $0.50 cents Pennies. all low in value sorry apart from the 1940 is their a dot in between K.G or no dot K G with a dot is Perth mint and worth $5. no dot $1, Pennies: 1926 $2 1927 $1 2 X 1929 $1 2 X 1933 - one is in a card and has lol written on it? (Perhaps overdate) need a close up of the second 3 in 1933 to tell for sure? Overdate $35-$50. 1934 1935 1936 1939 2 X 1940 1942 all a dollar or so.
I have a jar of 10kg of mixed years both Pennies and Halfpennies, any idea what it's worth? Looking to offload them if they are worth something, I looked through the lot for a 1930 penny but there is none, other than that not real interested in them.
I would love that for my son to get his Oz collection up and running - you're in Briz IIRC? Let me know what you want for it.
Before you do get rid of them, go through them again and look for 1925 and 1946 pennies and 1923 half pennies - just in case
