haha true, but if we survive that's going to be the most desirable year :D
If I wasn't saving up for snakes i'd pull the trigger.

At 1200, might of considered it, 1500 is a bit much though. Cant see gettin any more then 2k for it in a few years, especially if spot stays relatively low. would be nice though, never had a kilo coin before :O

It's a vanity thing. I don't own too many really beautiful coins, certainly not a kilo coin. Most of my stack is in bars, rounds and cheap coins. This is purely an indulgence and I've always loved that central American artwork. Yes it's way over spot but I'm hopefully paying for a thing of beauty. We shall see if it is next week. :)

They appreciate in value very quickly, and being the 2012 coin this one will do very well. You won't have any trouble at all selling it for $2000 in a few months.
Apmex want $1900 a coin already.

BTW...the 2012 thing is the MAYAN calendar not the Aztec calendar. Different Indians.

I had a 2010 and 2011 version of this coin but they weren't performing too well price wise so I ended up selling them earlier this year.

I hope you have better luck thatn I did with the 2012!

They are one of the most beautiful "coins" I've ever seen though.

I couldn't figure out how to edit my post, so I'll just add my additional comment here.

I must add that when I bought these coins it was at a much higher price about $1,900 -
    $2,100 USD.
