Hi Panda Friends anyone have any idea what the Bank of China 100yr Commemorative 1/4 Oz Gold and 1 Oz Silver Panda collection are going for? thanks in advance Jay
Hi Jay, Certainly in regard the 1 oz silver panda, silly money. More than I am willing to pay, and I think that supply is very tight. I was hoping to pick up a fair few of these on release but it hasn't materialised. Not one dealer I use even has any. Perhaps Yennus can add more?
go on e bay they are showing up thincat seller has them ,he is reliable ,and ship,s promptly ,I just bought a few things from him and had them in the US in 7 days ,he is 135 on e bay for the 1oz silver ,off fee bay im sure he will do better ,tell him i sent you joe, listing # 150848831648
Right now ms 69 199.00 on e bay .if MCM or paradise mint starts grading and selling.........you could see graded coins for less ,I don't think you are going to see 100.00 for a ms 69,these are not bullion with 8 million issued ,they where not released at a spot plus price ,260,000 mintage is crazy high IMHO, but dealers did not buy these at spot plus $4 like the 2012 Panda, each coin comes with box coa etc................... dealers are in these 80/90 per coin
Same with 30th anniversary 2009 silver coin (mintage 300.000) and now you can buy one ms69 for less than 100 uss.
HOPE YOUR RIGHT............ but IMHO we are not comparing apples to apples here, when the 2009 30th came out it was selling in raw form for under 50, these coins where sold as an upgrade of a "bullion panda" tied to the spot price. I bought LOTS graded ms 69 ,as bullion at apx 43usd............ we are talking about a totally different coin here.this 100th anniv is a commerative with box ,coa and is not being sold in monster boxes at tied to spot prices.my understanding is dealer prices for bulk purchases are around 85/95 raw........these big guys don't make a habit of losing money,if someone like modern coin mart starts grading them ..........sure he can sell ms69 at and around his cost+grading fee,s, if lets say he grades 100 coins and 40 come back as 70,s as he will achieve double his cost on the 70,s,and he is very carefully listing the coins on ebay not to flood the market with 70,s and crash the price,of course it is a different story when it comes to bullion panda,s ,I bought a bunch of 2011,2012,ms70,s at apx 65.00............ over 36,000 2012,s graded with 1/2 apx ,ms70,s .100th anniversary coin total graded 6 all at ms69,so you might catch a guy with a couple looking to liquidate, but the grader/dealers.they know what there doing .... only way a sub 100 ms69 price will happen is if the china mint is unable to sell and they drop the price, they are not known for that though..........
I prefer pay 170 for a ms70 or 100 for a ms69. If i cant buy for this prices i prefer buy others coins. Now the 1996SD or LD or 1989 you can buy for less than 170 graded in ncs/ngc69 The mintage is 250.000 including 2 varieties. 2011 the chinese minted a lot of conmemoratives all go for 150/200 and only the 2007 have a good increment in price. The others have the same price or less than first sale price
Just got mine USD 100 for a Silver one in Hong kong. Dealers are licking the wounds this year. If it wasn't for the mighty Dragon at the start of the year, many of the mid to small time dealers will be cutting prices to offload inventory even if it means suffering a loss.
