Hi stackers, I'm very new to stacking and I only have a few pieces so far. So please ignore the ignorance of these questions. I want to know about storing of bullions, primarily 1oz bullions. Should I be storing my silver in individual containers? I'm a bit confused as some (kooks) seem to always be in them, however I see others that aren't. If I buy a round that isn't in a container, should I put it in one? Or just keep it out? Is there a preference to how they are stored? What about bars? I've seen some in sheets of plastic, and others aren't. Should I keep them in the plastic, or can I cut them out to play with them? I see clips on YouTube with some round bullions in containers right next to others without... I'm confused as to what I should start doing with mine when I get them. Thank you very much and I look forward to your responses. Jesta
Generally speaking, coins and rounds which do not come capsules generally sell for bullion price with little premium. This is mainly silver eagles and maples. There are however some exceptions. Its up to you if you want to buy after market capsules for them and really depends on if your aiming to flip them in the near future or hold on to them for a longer period with the hopes of getting a numismatic premium.
Generic bars and round you can handle. Most people won't be bothered by any toning on those. Premium bullion, collectibles, proofs, and other coins you should keep in airtite capsules, or the capsules that they may come in. You will want to keep those in the best condition possible to maximize the potential to sell at a higher price later on.
Arrrrrrgghghhhhhh Heres ye solution http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-27525-pirate-silver-porn.html
Hi, I'm in a similar boat and am new to stacking. Loving the forum to date and made my first trade the other day. I'm looking for a tube or storage solution for stacking 1oz coins (Kooks, Koalas) whilst still in their capsules. Does anyone know the width I need including the capsules? A lot of the ones on eBay a made to 41mm to house the coin only. Any help or links appreciated! Apples
With coins, I put them in the airtites and then buy plastic tube from maggie (site sponsor here). One tube can hold 16 coins with airtites. Nice and neat plus easy to handle. Hope this helps.
Get a boat. Get a GPS. Sink the boat............ Enjoy the forum & the joys of stacking. Keep some for a quick fondle. Forget the sunken stash for a few years.
 laughing at that was a religious experience that took a good 5 mins and re-reading it 6 times. *ing hilarious
