Hi All, I just joined this forum and enjoying so far what I have read. It's a great find. I have been buying silver for about the last 6 months and think it's time to step up to some gold. So far to date my collections is as follows, 1 KG coin mayan with amazing box and goodies. 1KG coin somalia with elephant. 10 10oz bars with buffalo design. 25 odd one ounce coins......graded. Yes I am addicted. I would like to buy a few Krugers, would I get a good deal from in the forum or just go thru a website? I was born and raised in SA but now live in the USA. Thanks guys. Ciao.
welcome - i think you will find buying krugs in Aus more expensive than the states as there is GST (+10%) here on anything not 24K.
Krugerrands are 22k (91.6%) gold and anything less than 99.9% pure gold carries a 10% sales tax in Australia so they're not very popular here. There's always plenty of stuff for sale on the forum, including Krugerrands that pop up from time to time, but you might want to look at some of your local options as well.

Hi Matzaball The Apmex deal looks ok, I wouldnt say its a good deal nor a bad one. I am from SA (but presently living in Dubai), when I return to SA I will be able to offer Krugerrands on this forum. I am hoping that will be sooner rather than later but unfortunately cant help you out right now.

That's a graded proof set. Are you trying to gain exposure to the price of gold, or are you trying to buy rare coins and re-sell them to collectors for a profit?
I spoke to the manager on duty and he said its about 550 over the actual gold price. So am I paying for the 69 NGC grading and if so I should be able to sell this one day. Your thoughts?? M P.S. I like box sets by the way.
