Franklin Mint Mini Floral Plates worth more than value in weight?

    I am starting to collect precious metals and am wondering if these sterling silver plates are worth more than their value in weight. I don't want to pay more than what they are worth but then again I don't want to lose out on a good investment. Any help is greatly appreciated. Here is the link:

    I'm guilty of sending sets of these to the smelters. Used to pick them up well below spot.

    If that is a common occurrence I could see these being worth more than spot! If not now definitely in the future.

    Unlikely. The more scarcer a product becomes the higher asking price, even if FM crap.

    I seem to recall these sets in particular fetching quite the premiums - must have been an old eBay sale someone linked to once. Anyway, that set is missing a plate, and I think the presentation case they came in.
