Hey all, Not sure if anyone has seen this ebay listing for (4) 2012 5oz Lunar Dragon Proof Silver Coins (purchased for 495, selling for 800) that are already for sale two days before release (coin was available yesterday)...oh and it's not me btw.. ebay listing Source: ebay
Doesn't necessarily mean the coins are physically available prior to the release date - looks like a presale of coins from an allocation to me.
The coins have been in stock since the 1st June. Interesting..Here's the response i received.. We are a primary distributor of the Perth Mint. We both had these coins on sale from 1 June, however we had ours in stock and ready to deliver then, while they had advertised 5th June delivery for their customers. I'm not sure the reason - probably logistics within the Mint are slower as they are a much bigger organisation.
Perth Mint just released them, just ordered mine was hoping for less mintage numbers (5000)! but what to do...
not available for me since im in the US. newyorkmint has been known to carry slightly higher premiums compared to other dealers.
wasn't able to find on the newyorkmint website (which looks a lot like Gov Mint) ... anyone have any luck ordering?
If you US buyers think Apmex is a tough one to deal with, wait until this crew releases them. Last year they had the 5oz koala at $600, so I can just imagine what they'll release this thing at...and it won't be pretty.
Yeah this really sucks!, this was one coin I really wanted out of all the total garbage crap the Perth mint spits out and they wont sell to the USA and they have also muscled downies not to sell to the USA either , I will definatly not be buying one from this new york mint place I assume they are a sister company to usgov mint which I would never deal with again , you would think if Perth mint was to pick a US distributer they could do better than this. I for one am done with the Perth mint and all their damn shady crap!
more like prison USA compound, where the residents do not have the right to do something with the green back to convert it into 5 oz Proof Perth Mint direct from OZ. :|
I get it that the Perth Mint wants to protect those that do major amounts of business with them. I also understand that companies like Paradise Mint and New York Mint are sticking their necks out with the commitment to purchase however many they're purchasing and have every right to protect themselves. That stated, they both happen to be companies that I will not give one cent, euro, peso or an other form of currency to. Those 2 along with Talisman will not see another penny from me, just to shady and slimy for my taste, and my standards are low enough...
Why Buy these.. Why wouldnt you buy the 5 oz BU instead.. What... Your betting they will go up? Dont get it (this).. or why people pay for proofs in general --- 99% of PM proofs can be purchased later on for pennies on the dollar.. seems like buying into a craze and then selling it a loss down the track. Too much money, not enough cents (silver cents that it) 1for1
Me Neither to buy anything from Talisman coin any more. They are so shameless. They already got several Negative feedback on Ebay. So we are not the only ones who do not like them. I have never bought from the other two dealers before, not after neither
Not sure I agree with this , the Perth mint can do what it wants and sell to who it wants but to also strong arm downies not to sell to the usa is pretty low . I will have to see what price they sell them at but if is anything like the past they will send them all in for grading then super high markup , I just wanted one since I have all the other dragon proofs but I dont want one graded at a high markup. + 1 on Talisman!
Thats strange , when I clicked the link in the email yesterday it said and still says "unavailable for sale within the US" but I just went to the website and ordered one and it did not stop me so I hope they do not cancel the order like they have been know to do. Thanks for the heads up on that, I will see what happens.
Lucky we signed a free trade agreement with the US... This smacks of the same bullshit that Leupold pulled a few years ago, seeking a new export permit system from the government that priced out smaller companies from being able to sell goods to Australia, thus protecting Aussie importers very fat profit margins from internet shoppers...
