is the mintage eighty thousand or just eighty? perth mint google broken i reckon it will fetch $65 AUD .
Wrong dragon! Should have used the silver one, I would have bought one for sure. Now we just need the new limited 1oz bullion dragon with the dragon privy and we are done!
wow they have no fear of anything at the PM i know they could do a big dragon privy with a small dragon privy inside that with a smaller dragon inside that then maybe put a dragon privy inside that just to make sure we know its a dragon
LOL its a 1oz silver joke! 500,000 mintage limit... I wouldn't call it a limit as per say, more like something to be circumvented
The 2012 Kookaburra now has a 500,000 mintage limit that has been reached so now they run out another 80,000 with a privy of the 1oz gold dragon image on it. I'll be giving this a big miss. If no-one buys then the mint will get the message.
Thats crazy , I dont know why the perth mint doesnt just drop mintage limits alltogether that would be more honest. I wonder when they will mint the 1992 kook with a privy.
Ahh, why don't they do the job right and mint up some more 2008 koalas with the dragon privy. It really is getting silly now.
They wont get any message, they are all about making more money...and screw the collectors...and yes they will buy them, unfortunately
Sadly, it is true - they are for sale in Europe now for about 28Euro. http://www.ma-shops.com/schneider/item.php5?id=211&lang=en&curr=EUR I am just stunned at what the Perth Mint has been doing lately with their releases, what is the point of having a limited mintage if they just sidestep it and produce the same coins with a privy mark! I thought the Koala was the unlimited bullion coin? So what the hell are they doing producing more kooks??? Way to p#*s off the people who actually buy their products! I am only a small time stacker, but I doubt I will be getting any more Perth Mint products - they can't be trusted with their so called mintage limits, they are saturating the marked with crap, and to be honest nearly all of their Proof type coins are boring with little imagination or skill - just put a coloured label on a coin and sell it for $110!. Having seen what other mints are doing, there are some absolutley stunning coins with amazing craftmanship - if i'm spending over $100 per ounce for silver I want something that I consider to be a work of art. My money will be going elsewhere.
But wait, there's more! Was doing some reading at the Kitco forum, someone mentioned a kook with an eagle privy - surely can't be right?! After a bit of googling, found the latest Perth Mint Currency Determination, and at the very bottom is this: "A design, in bullion finish, consisting of a representation of a kookaburra sitting on a leafy tree branch, a circle enclosing a representation of an eagle," http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2012L00870/Explanatory Statement/Text So, now we will have a 2012 Kookaburra 1oz silver with an Eagle privy!!!! What an effing joke! - very, very rare that I swear, but in this case can't think of a better reaction
not even companies are exempt from being desperate mintage figures = wheel of fortune only reassures not to buy into all this mumbo jumbo numismatic stuff... just settle for 999 closest to spot
