Hello everyone, im still fairly new to silver buying and was wondering if its worth buying the dragon coin set for investment purposes.. what is your opinion on this coin set? http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalog...ar-of-the-dragon-1oz-silver-ten-coin-set.aspx Thank you!
I am a little dissapointed with PM dragon coins, especially it has released toooo many dragon coins under differnt names this year. I only bought two high relief dragons and the maket is cooling down so quickly for PM dragons. If I were you, I will not buy this set.
As an investment? They are already selling on eBay for less than the issue price. I think that their unpopularity may help make them a bit of a sleeper. I am dragon mad and I couldn't be bothered to pick up a set at that price. If many people feel that way then there won't be too many on the secondry market in the future. However if they don't continue the series in some way there might not be much demand for them anyway. Or the Mint might just decide to sell them individually, or package them up in other ways just to shift them. Or they might just make a 30 dragon set and colour some more in, you can't trust them. As an investment I would avoid most coloured, gilded or gimicky coins and stick with ones which have always been popular. For what it is worth, if the price comes down to around $700 I will probably pick up a set.
Buy bullion... bars or rounds -- dont pay premiums on risky PM modern day numismatics.. the odds are really bad that they will appreciate in bygone years.. i fear the trend is for PM coloured product to HALVE in value over the first two years.. HOT to COLD! 2012 is proberbly the worst so i expect the loses to be as bad if not worse, even taking into consideration the popularity of the Dragon with collectors. Invest in silver.. not Low mintage and stick-on coloured adhesive 1for1
All my dragon coins were long gone except that I've left a couple of bullions and one gilded to get my set going. I was really looking forward to the dragons and like them a lot when the bullion first came out, but as PM keeps releasing more and more of the same dragons with different colours, PM completely puts me off! Even during the time when everyone was selling the high relief dragon at a marked up price, I saw one from Downies and could've bought it at retail price and flip, I wasn't interested. Now, the only thing I don't want is dragon!
not sure if we can post this. but if there (seems mainly canada) is a group of collectors who want buy any coin some some qty together and we can ship in 1 shot to 1 person and he/she will sent further we can give a nice price of course. we don't have the work
