Just recieved a message from the Canadian Royal mint that the next coin in the $20 for $20 series is going to be shipped shortly. It will have a diamond jubulee theme for Queen Elizabeth, but no pics were posted. A search of the internet turned up nothing. Has anyone see a pic yet of the new coin?
Beginning of the May (probably May 1) new coin $20 for $20 is coming out. I don't think picture is available yet to see.
Yes very similar... the key difference for me is although neither have a spot silver worth near face value, the canadian $20 is legal tender in Canada.. The Macquarie bank $10 is legal tender in Naruu... as far as i am aware naru currency is not accepted in Australia.. however i have been unable to find much info on this (and this point is key) RE: two queens $20... its slightly better than holidng paper but imo its far better to spend another $10 and go buy a buffalo or a scottsdale 1oz 999 round! 1for1
Agreed, one of the good things about this coin is that if the price of silver were to suddenly collapse you still have face value of $20, great if you live in Canada and I would rather hold the silver coin than the new plastic money. In fact it doesn't really matter what the value of silver does, you have $20. The coin may go up in value as a collectible, silver may go to the moon. I quite like them and have the first 3.
After they come in, one goes to a buddy of mine, but the other two get sent off to NGC for grading. I then put the second one on ebay and sell it. If anyone is interested in buying the second one, I just ask for total costs of buying the coin, grading the coins, shipping of the coin and anyother cost plus $5 for my troubles. This has been running about $55 or so and this is what I have been selling a graded specimen for. If anyone is interested, the first person who pms me will get the coin. Thanks. Joe
