My sister go in may to saudi arabia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Arabia Someone know if in saudi arabia they have silver and gold coins minted? And where buy it? Thanks in advance for your help
Apologies in advance if you don't consider politics when making purchases, but are you sure you want to support a Wahhabist regime by buying their coins? Just askin.........
Imho out of the 3, Wahhabism is the most oppressive evil. Or to put it another way if i had to choose between living in the US, Commie China or Taliban Afghanistan/Somalia, Afghanistan would be on the very bottom of my list. Anyway we all have our personal convictions and some of us stick to them. I don't look upon anyone badly if they buy Saudi coins, i simply hope they are informed of where their money could end up and how it could be used.
But if you think about it, than giving them 'our' paper for their gold, is not really supporting them !
Ask your sister to ask around for any older gold and silver. ( Dinars and dirhams ) like from a 1000 years ago. All trade at a lot higher than SPOT. Also, even if she pays SPOT for any Saudi gold coins ( from any era ) she will be ahead. If you want, she can send you an email with photo or description and you send the info to me and il let you know where you are standing.
I have this Coin.... It's a beautiful coin 1367 Hijri (Arab Lunar) - 1947 for reference http://www.chiefacoins.com/Database/Countries/AbdulAziz_Al-Saud.htm
I'd like to pick up some gold coins from Venezuala, Cuba, North Korea, Russia, China, Syria and Iran.
Nice coin epstein. It is a silver Riyal from memory around 0.36 oz +-, but the cool thing about that particular coin is that it was minted in the Holy City of Mecca.
