    Copied from SilverIsTheNew FYI:

As you may be aware there's a VAT loophole for silver sent to the UK from Guernsey. If the item is less than 15 then the item is VAT free. This loop-hole is being closed at the end of this month.

Sarnia are selling-off their half ounces and my best so far was one at 13.89 including delivery. Anyone in the UK should know this is a good ideal.

    Anyway, here's the link:

Yep, I had that info by email when I bought some rounds from them.

Unless they drop their prices for the 1oz coins I think they may struggle come the 1st April as with vat and special delivery charges it was working out around 36 oz.

Had a few of the 1/4's and just added some of the 1/2's while they are cheap :)

I think they'll drop further & take a bit of a hit because they need to clear these ;)

Hopefully they drop there delivery charge on small orders of 1oz rounds. Where will you all be buying now the tax exemption is over? Im thinking overseas.

    ^^^ Nice link... thanks

They even stock mintbars, something I've never heard of before, but as they're legal tender (I would hate to carry two of those in my pocket), they only attract vat at 7%

Coininvest has a special on the 10 set coloured Lunars ATM.. 581'ish including vat at 7%... I'm potless ATM, so I'm going to give it a miss

Consider buying in Germany where the VAT on silver is only 7%
Once the VAT has been paid there is no further tax to pay.
If you buy from the USA or elsewhere and VAT hasn't been shown on the invoice you will be clobbered the full 20% and sometimes more as VAT is charged on shipping and insurance also - be warned !!
Keep smiling as we Brits just love being one of the top taxed countries these days.
