I'm looking to sell my PM silver coins to buy my first car ($4000).

The dealer offered me $1 a gram so $31 a coin

I'll be looking to sell the following type 1oz coins:

    2011 Koala
    2011 Kookaburra
    2012 Dragons
    2012 Kookaburras

    2012 2oz Rabbits

    10oz PM silver bar

Which one do you think I should sell? And is $31 a coin a good price, or could I get a better price elsewhere.

    Thanks.

You could get much better prices. Delears are a last resort for me since they offer the lowest price.

Try to sell here on the forum.

What everyone just said, though being new you will most probably have to send 1st.

    Also agree with above:

Try F2F in your state if you dont want to send first before cash

The Koalas should fetch ~$35-$38, the 2011/2012 Kookaburras will $40+, the 2012 Dragons will fetch $50+, the 2oz Rabbits should fetch $80+.

Nicely done people .. good advice from all

Dealers will only pay spot or perhaps a small premium over

Will generally get a lot better prices offering them here

Tony I thought you had a stack of 150oz+ 6 months ago? Surely you paid more than $31 per ounce for those coins.

I sense some sort of round about scam.

Yeah I did :) and still do. Those are the type of coins I have.

I did pay more for those coins (premium) and I thought I would have to make a loss on them because why would somebody pay more for a coin from me, than what they could buy from the Perth Mint, unless you really want them because the PM doesn't mint them anymore. From the responses I guess I was wrong.

I've also thought about whether I should even sell them. My plan was to hold onto them until I could make a decent profit from them (when economic disaster happens) but I'm a mad bushwalker and I need a car to explore what lies beyond cities. So I'm giving up money for passion, which I believe is a much worthy trade. There's always an opportunity to make money I guess.

Anyway, yeah I'll post what I'm selling in the selling section.

    Thanks everyone :)
