I have one of these 1/2kg Mouse tucked away and wondering how much they are worth and if I should let it out? Mintage was like only 700 odd. The 2oz ANDA Tiger in a box goes for like $500+ and it had a mintage of 1,000 and the mouse is 16oz with less of a mintage. A problem I see with the 1/2 kg is they stopped after the 3rd coin in the series (Tiger) so a 12 coin set cant be completed. Opinions welcomed
1/2 kg silver, will become highly sought after many years to come...the silver bars most commonly traded will be the 1kg bars...in the future, so the odd people will love to have the half kg coin as well. "ODD one indeed"
Just lemme know in advance what your buying please Matthew. I like your style . Admits to being jealous about your 1/2kg mouse
5oz Mouse seem to be going for around $600 odd, a 1/2kg is 16 ounces, a 739 mintage to 3,005 (three times the silver and less than a third the 5oz mintage) could it be worth $1,800???
Don't think it's as sort after for a variety of reasons so I would say no. I love them because of their size but I think it really sux they dropped them after the tiger. malachii
I think their fantastic - but because they didn't continue you cant collect the series which makes it more available(??) but also doesn't build that critical mass of collectors/investors. malachii
I reckon $1100-1200 would be the going rate. Nothing to back this up, just gut feeling, Mabo, and the vibe of it.
I would split the 2 and say around $1500 would be fair. There are people that would want every size minted that year. This is also a gut feeling, mabo, but mostly just the vibe.
Ahhh .... The joys of guessing a fair price for these when there is no sales history. And no chance of completing a full set of 12.
^^^ thats the kicker keeping the 1/2kg prices low, no sets to complete. A 2oz mouse goes for $300 or so which is $150 an ounce with a 9,000 odd mintage. The 1/2kg has a 700 odd mintage and at the rate of $150/oz would be valued at $2,400. Clearly not worth that but the inconsistencies of markets is always fascinating.
Put on Ebay, Buy it Now $2500 see what happens. Costs nothing to list. If it sells who care if fees are $100
