Major events, world news and natural disasters play a role in silver's behavior, but for better or worse? Thought this was.. interesting... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E35sH1Oy1As&feature=youtube_gdata_player If an event were to occur on Thursday, what can we expect out of silver/gold?
Disasters will no doubt trickle down into the cost of living and possibly impact the financial sytem directly. In theory the value of metals should rise but the social cost and impacts felt on infrustructure will be greater.
USGS reported the earthquake in Chile as 7.4 mag and MSM reported no significant damage. The video is interesting and reported it as an 8.8 mag quake with significant damage reports being made. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35618451/ It is probably worse than we have been lead to believe. No different to the state of the financial system.

Two more quakes today. Big one in Indonesia and a smaller one in Mexico City. Have not heard the extent of the damages or injuries. The markets had little or no reaction.
