    Just thought I'd say hi!
Newly registered, and planning to buy around $1000 of silver from the Perth Mint to celebrate. First time buying precious metals. Any help or advice much appreciated. I was thinking a poured bar 1 kg and some Kookaburras.

welcome to the addictive world of stacking!!!! first time buy on perth mint is a good idea, but you'll find over time, the prices on the forum are very fair and competitive!

Depending on your game plan...stacking 1kg bars is a great way to start :)

Welcome to the party. Read a lot here first before you buy, the forum may change your approach to what you may think is the right thing for you now.

Precious metals is a big world, with plenty of different options and paths to take. Hopefully you will get a chance to understand it before somebody mentions "Panda's" at which time you will fall down the rabbit hole into yet another world.

Best of luck and enjoy the journey.

Welcome crafty. Plenty up for sale in the threads atm so you might find some better bargains or things more suited to you in there.

Welcome to the funny-as-funktional shiny SS family crafty09 - Forgive me - but I have to ask WHY-OH-WHY-OH-WHY buy from PM? - I'm sure whatever you're after can be found here - and at lower cost - besides by the time you've given them the DNA samples & got written permission from both sets of great grandparents you'll have lost five years of your life - at least that's what it feels like opening a personal account there - kicked mine into touch a LONG time ago...

Drop by my Twitter feed for some free righteous info if you get chance - might save (or make) you a few shekels :D x

I'm in sunny Sydney. I'll start keeping an eye on the selling area of SS - considering some PAMP bars if I change my mind to minted silver.

Not sure if anybody is still reading here, but I'm not too sure where to post a question like this.

Since I'm a new stacker, would it be wise to stick to bullion or can I venture into numismatics too? I really love the look of the Great White from NZ Mint, and an SS member is organising a mass shipment from APMEX. Really tempted to put my name down for it. I'm guessing that will be 400 AUD as an absolute maximum, its got a pretty limited mintage and its a nice coin with a high demand on SS, so from my point of view a nice investment. The rest of my thousand could go towards a 20oz or PM or PAMP bullion bar...

What the turtle does FNG mean? And welcome - just watch who you talk to, I can't give you a list of who is OK it's too long (but I'd be at the top of it of course), but I can PM you a list of who to avoid.

Bullion first, then diversify. Welcome also.

You could also have posted that on the silver or general precious metal threads.

It's always good to get the "plenty of variety in my stack itch" out of the way early, so go for it.

FNG originates as US soldier slang from the Vietnam War - it stands for F***ing New Guy
