Perhaps people are being turned away from bars somewhat because of the relative ease they can be forged. Even if Perth Mint bars arent being forged today, in 10 years time maybe they will be.

People might be thinking that for maybe $1 more an ounce instead of buying a bar you can buy the 10oz Dragon which because of its intricate design and legal tender status affords you a higher level of forger protection than a bar.

There is no shortage of bars for sale - should you ASK.

Lemme explain:- at this time, there is a product advertised for sale [here on SS], which is still for sale at my local bullion dealer, and he is selling it > $100 cheaper than the advertised price here.

Now... with this in mind, here is a proposition for you: You state which bars you would like to buy & the quantity, but these must be bars that are still for sale at bullion dealers. (PS: Don't state a price - be fair :)). Someone here will then look up the current bullion dealer price, add a commission for themselves, and quote you a price, and you will then purchase the product.

There is no shortage of bars for sale - should you ASK.

As a newbie, I find supply of bars ebs & flows, ad in a little market confusion and people sit tight.
Be interesting to see if the recent flooding rains affect Ag supply. Three mines who were about to ramp up production have had delays due to flooding.

In terms of sale offers, I can hear the frustration of those selling getting below spot offers. This is an old trick also used in real estate, and yes these low-ballers will come across someone who needs to move bullion. It's a numbers game. Pity they have to do it here.

On the flip side are the people selling bullion for WAY over spot. I've offered on 10oz bars where the asking is $370 when spot is $31 and you can buy from a dealer for $335. I'm in the market to stack for the future, not to be a charity. Dealer got the business.
Personally, and as was said earlier, I compare all prices with other SS members and dealers are selling for, then make an offer (prefer to buy here).
If based on that your bars look over priced, then they are (perception is reality).

BTW, I'm really enjoying this site. Thanks for the info sharing.

Ha ha... this post did not properly register in my consciousness, before I submitted my contribution. Only $20 extra, my that's cheap. I have the same bars, but as I need to get them shipped to Brisbane before re-selling them, I'm forced to add $35 onto each bar. You're undercutting me, how will I survive? :(

Goldslackers are $25 above W.Davis price ,I've bought of them when Peter didn't have anything to sell
I don't haggle with bullion ,if your price was say $10 - $20 above the lowest advertised price & they didn't have any in stock
I'd pay the extra, you can't always get bullion at W.Davis prices ,it's nice when you do :D
    How will you survive
    1 Work harder :D
2 Don't speculate by putting all your cash into bullion :D

Just out of curiosity, is there a big difference in liquidity if your silver bars are say swiss PAMP or SS? Would there be a difference in the price I can sell my bars or the ease of finding buyers between government mint bars or private mint bars?
