Hi All, Just got my first PAMP bar today which is a 1oz Minted Silver. My question, has anyone received one before with a foreign particle/s inside? The bar has a spec of yellow about 1mm in diameter that does not belong. Am I being fussy, or is this common? Any feedback would be appreciated. Regards, Supe
You have Gold in the Silver!!!! (Silver plated gold?) Sorry, couldn't resist. Have played with my friends Pamp monster box, can't say I have seen any yellow spec, yet the bar is a rough cast, don't think it will affect the value much.
I had well and truly anticipated the "GOLD" response! However a little surprised to not see such a product delivered in pristine condition when package from the supplier.
I had some erosion on some of my bars too however, PM assured me that they will purchase them back with no fuss.....one hopes anyway [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/589_pm_bars.jpg][/imgz]
It may be hard to see but it's on the edge of the side with "swiss made". Under light stands right out, but iPhone not too good at taking pics. Look straight down here * (provided this "*" does not move depending on screen size)
Is it a loose fragment, or stuck to the bar? At the end of the day, it's still an ounce of 999, but probably not what you want to see on a premium bar.
The person wishes to know what it is. So, before having a field day on the thread let us resolve it. Okay? Answer: The impurity|impurities is Copper. It is 'normal'. Don't panic. Conspiracy Theory Answer: You have been duped with part Xenon Hexafluoroplatinate in the bullion. HAHAHAHAHAHA  Now, you can all go and have your frenzy chit chat session. .
Was this bought from a Chinese trader on eBay? I mean...if they can make very convincing copies of Swiss watches, then making a silver bar and placing it in a clamshell ought to be a very simple task.
HEHE thanks Water&Food for pointing out the mark. It was really hard to see until you pointed it out. For a high premium bar it does matter with price if your trying to sell it on the secondary market. people will tend to pay you spot or maybe just alittle over spot for bars like this one. consider pamp 1oz bars sells for $47AUD+ you are losing abit of money if you plan to resell it in the near future.
Then we'll get a rehash of that thread "Should a seller mention when a bar is toned/copper spotted?". Might as well settle it here and now
GP - Spot appears to be fixed on the surface of the silver. As I can move it by tilting or slightly shaking the packet. Earthjade - This bar was brought through a reputable dealer in Aus. Won't say who as it's not their fault it's there. Water&Food - Thank you for the insight and helping with the picture for all to view. Fortunately don't plan on selling it any time soon. Unfortunately only brought the 1oz to have a 1oz Silver Pamp and fact its not perfect is disappointing. Supe
