The one on the right is MS68 not PF graded by the numismatic guessing company (NGC). Left coin is in a non original capsule.the china mint pandas come in a slightly rounded capsule so the pandas heads don't get rubbed off on the capsule like this one did. Useless fact : If you place a genuine panda in a capsule on a flat surface it will spin around when spun with your fingers.
I haven't seen any 1989 fakes in the flesh before, not the rarest year bear so most likely not a common fake. Looks alright to me but you'd have to measure & weigh the coin to be certain it's real.
Can some of the experts out there give me a value on a kung fu panda graded 69 by NGC?? a reasonable sell for value please ,not the inflated I hope to push up the value my coin estimate
Optimistically, $800, realistically $600-700 if you wanted to sell it NOW. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-CHINA-...159?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae239bc17 Is the most recent available comparison, however the raw price has jumped 10% since then, that kind of movement takes a little while to filter to graded stock.
Quite a few of us bought the KF panda from eBay at < $600 US delivered over the past few weeks. You can see the action in this thread: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-21758-lbc-modern-chinese-coin-investments-list-124.html Although given how we cleared out so many I wouldn't be surprised if prices now are > $600 US.
Yes, very annoyed that I couldn't get one. So upset that I'm going to sell all of my pandas because I can't stand these furry things eating all of my money anymore. Just kidding.
Today in the mail: Zhao Gongming (no it's not a Samsung Galaxy Note) and a stack of 08/09 30th Anniv slabbed pandas My poor photography skills don't do the Zhao Gongming justice, it's a great medal.
Ohhhh pretttttty.I'm still looking at one for a good price. These are seriously undervalued.Theres a 70 graded one for $100,000 USD on eBay.lol
I paid $1200 US for my clouded claw (I think it's clouded claw)... [at a similar price to the 9 coin set from Perth Mint it's a no brainer] Wouldn't bother with a PF70 GOW for 100k, I bought some PF70 historical figures instead... Oh and some MS70 pandas of course
My GOW has very slight toning on the edges (not shown very well in pic). Gives it the 'aged' look lol. I like it. I usually like my coins fresh and shiny but this looks nice too. It's nothing NCS can't fix anyway if I decide down the track to fix it up. The finish on the medal is amazing though and the slab is massive which is awesome. There's still a few of these on eBay going around $1300 each which I think is a winner (Mr Ge has 2 stars on this).
As a bit of trivia; on the back of the God of War and Wealth medal there are three characters on the top. The characters are: https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh/己巳#.E5.B7.B1.E5.B7.B3.E5.B9.B4 This signifies the 'year cycle' or whatever, much like the RenChen year which is 2012. So yes there is a 'year' on this medal and thus it is awesome unlike all the other boring coins/medals which use a numerical year. And no, I didn't know what those characters meant before I went to Google, there's just far too much Chinese cultural knowledge I don't know .
