I'd like to see a gold retrieved per $ invested/running costs for all of the vessels/crews. Reckon the Christine Rose would still blitz it though.
I thought the 320 excavator was used to steer the Christine Rose because the steering was stuffed up in episode 1. The Christine Rose is the most interesting dredge out of all, the mounted excavator looks awesome. The Slucie is doing ok, looks like a normal tinny + an addition support hull on the side with all its stuff mounted in the middle. They didn't do too bad for a first run. Slam
I'm hoping Slucie does well. The 4th crew "Ranger something" seems like they're related to the Hoffman crew
They tried this on mythbusters, they did not go aswell as this show but here is the proof the video they were trying to bust/prove to work was probably not fake. I also think it was doing all the work or in the first episode they could have used the engine power to get away from the rocks. If nothing is faked anyway. Episode 174 or seaason 2011 #15 "Duct Tape Plane" The aftershow http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/mythbusters-excavator-exuberance-aftershow.html
From memory I think it was said in EP1 they needed to clear 70oz a week to break even/profit... So what's that roughly $100k+ a week?
Dont read below if you want to watch the show first for some results- The clark seems to be going ok for a small boat, 15k and the chick made him knock off early. The bigger barge got 70 oz and did not have a full day either. Also that guy who got stabbed in the back in the 1st/2nd? episode is lucky to be walking i think.
I was thinking about that incident in ep2 when the crew of CR are at the bar celebrating .... Wouldn't you instead try and be as low key as possible? After all, Nome is a very small town.
I find it interesting that the camera guy did not help the chick get her arm out from the suction hose, they may know it is not life threatening or they are prepared to let them die. I got my viewing off the internet, i searched discoverys tv guide and did not find it in Australia, but i am guesing you can not post links around here.
Not being aired in Australia. In the US they have TGIF "Think Gold It's Friday" on Discovery - Gold Rush and Bering Sea Gold air back-to-back. Sign of the times... this show will do a lot to arouse public interest in gold.
I'd call it more like a beat down, the old man never got one hit in! I alway though that guy had the worst attitude, it'd be a better show without him IMO
