I bought that 1989 expo panda tamo mentions lol... it actually sold twice at $550 I believe, me and another guy bought one each! The reason I bought it was because tamo/Austacker made it sound so enticing and it's price level was screaming "bargain" to me. Also the flood of them on the market is from mostly one seller, I believe once they're cleaned out they will be back to the usual scarce levels. I actually offered $515 before but he countered with a $550, I couldn't be bothered stuffing around for an odd $20-30 so took his offer. Was a good price ($588 US shipped), especially with the strong AUD (~1.06 at time of purchase). Read more here.
He also mentions the 1998LD 1oz BU Panda. Something I know fishball has mentioned a few times as very undervalued. There is a pretty hot auction for a MS69 on eBay at the moment that looks to eclipse the previous top sale price.
Are you talking about this? I am watching that auction, anything under $450 feels like a good buy to me so might put in a last minute sneaky bid. As for me mentioning it being undervalued, I wish I could claim credit for that but it was 25Grizzlies who first alerted me to it back when we first met in Sydney.
Hey fish, I was the $525 guy! Exhange rate could have been better though. to $ = fail .. well compared to the 1 = $2 days lol The reason i bought it was because i love the design and like you i believe there is defo upside potential. Mohur
Chances are the other guy who bought for $550 is on here as well. Lots of astute buyers on here! My reasoning for the upside potential is: Low mintage Great design Currently market flooded thus reflecting low prices (ie. Good buy) Although I bought it mostly for the second reason, the design is awesome.
Well, thanks to you both, I investigated them shortly after you mentioned them and picked up an OMP sheet. Hopefully we all make a solid return. It is interesting how word travels and generates hype.
FB you're right I was the "other guy" , after reading so many positive review about this coin, I decided to buy one too I offered $525 but the seller counter offered for $550, and it was sold before I accepted it, Bought it for $550 when the seller relisted the item. nothing can go wrong with $550, 4000 mintage Panda! will post pic hopefully next week
And the Pandamonium is likely to get much hotter in the coming days, months and years... I'm going to want a much bigger budget for these Pandas.
I made a offer of $520 USD, he replied with $550 USD. Ended up costing $513 AUD plus postage. from the same seller.
lol.you must have a good memory. I want to find out how many are in ms 69 condition? Any idea.(I tryed looking on the NGC website but had no luck).
