I am not sure about the merits or dismerits of BrotherJohnF but I reckon the Koalas are going to do well and shock you lunar bugs. The PM is having a bit of trouble keeping up with the demand. It is always a good sign. If you ask me which is a nicer coin the Koala or Cougar - no competition and the Koala has no milk spots. Look at the premium on the 2007/2008/2009 Koala ...lol I recon the S2 2008 1oz mouse is not doing as well as the 2008 1oz Koala ....any disagree I forgot ............... ask Yennus which the Chinese prefer Koala or Kook - Koala wins hands down.
I hear lots of positives on this thread for the 2012 Koala. But I thought it has unlimited minting and may produce more ounces than Kookaburras, especially in a high demand year? The Perth Mint has already said that they have had strong demand.
Look at the Koala mintages from 2007 (Cougar/Timberwolf and Grizzly -1million mintage each (I think) http://www.perthmint.com.au//docume...la_Silver_Bullion_Coin_Series_2007_-_2010.pdf 2007 - 137,768 2008 - 84,057 2009 - 336,757 2010 - 233,531 I cant find figures for 2011 but I doubt it was more than 500,000 ?? Does anyone know ? And not one has milk spots !!!
Metalzzz, you'd love the vid where he describes the standard, bullion grade American Silver Eagle as numismatic. Does the ASE command a premium over generic rounds, "junk" 90% coinage and uncommon government issues? Absolutely. Is the bullion ASE a numismatic play? Not by most standards. The ASE is, however, clearly the bullion of choice for residents of the US. It is the most liquid, most desirable and most well recognised by non-numismatists and stackers alike. Perth Mint bullion, Chinese Pandas and other numi bullion are not nearly as liquid and require finding an educated buyer in order to realise the full numi value. Most folks here have no idea what the PM is, let alone what a PM dragon or Chinese Panda is. Judging by the threads and posts in this forum, seems it's all about PM Lunar series and Pandas in OZ FTMFW;.) .....Not the case on this side of the lake. Would be nice if BJF was more responsive here in SS....but I've noticed he doesn't respond to, or participate in, the comments section in his own blog. Make of that what u will....looking like it's gonna be robo posts or none at all.
