You like naked men in wings? Dragon fetish? The Angel is one of the world's most beautiful and most popular bullion coins. The Isle of Man Government introduced a new design in 2008 showing a classic image of the Archangel Michael slaying the Dragon. This is just the third Angel design in the coins 25 year history. It brings back some of the features from the very first Angel coin, including Michael's feathered wings and the Celtic band around the border. Don't miss your chance to own this brand new Angel - and remember, Angels make great gifts! Thanks...............
Yep - standard marketing spiel in the 25 yr history of the Manx Angel. It's a beautiful coin, regardless - and I'm picking up a couple - but at the price I want to pay, not daft prems over spot Aesthetics are a bonus aren't they - especially if you have an interest in small production outfits with Royal License. Or would you rather I waxed lyrical on the ubiquitous f&cking marsupials or pointy-beaked Aussie birds lol!? Sorry - they don't inspire me as much - not least because they're so commonplace. x
I like the Manx Angels. IOM has fond memories for me - spent a lot of time at army camp (Jurby) when I was a lad... They are a very attractive coin. That is all.
I've been to the isle of man, beautiful place, not many trees though :/ ....what a stunning coin. Except for the evil serpent (not the dragon and the knight, the other side)
Umm... correction, this angel is not naked. Sadly it is wearing either speedo togs or underpants :/ Naked or obscured genitals would be more classical and aesthetic IMO. Imagine how prudishly absurd Michelangelo's David would look if it was sporting underpants
Haha! You made my month BS! Actually you're totally right - meat & 2 veg should always be free to swing in the wind wherever possible I say... Lol!
Hmm, I getting some of these naked angels. Just wondering if anybody's interested. Silver though ... not GOld
My delivery's being sent by EMS next week - I've upped the order to include some of the Ag 1oz Tutankhamun Sand Triangle proofs, more 1oz Ag Angel proofs and another few 1oz bu au Angels... The Au Angels sell for anything up to 25% over spot - Ag 1oz Proof High-Relief Angels sell for around the same as top-end ASE proofs, Tuts (3 versions - the non-sand throne version is 47, sand version is 70, the Tut Throne version is only available to order in quantity 25 or more as a special - they'll mint 'em to order, but the Sarcophagus Triangle (non-sand) looks way better) http://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/gold-coins/1-ounce-isle-man-angel/isle-man-angel-1oz-gold-coin/ OUT OF STOCK Good news is the non-sand Tuts are available - kind of - Bad news is the are no more Sand Tuts being made, ten were available of which 6 are mine, leaving 4... so if you want them let me know & I can add them to my order before despatch - there's +10% on the proofs of course, and I'll take the same as Maggie does so 5% handling fee. I'm also buying 10 of the bronze Tuts @ 17ea, just as giveaways & promo to some Middle East customers' kids. They used to do a copper version too but I'm not into those. I bought when au was about $1575/oz & Ag was about $29/oz so glad I'm buying there instead of higher, which will help keep the resale price buoyant enough to allow a decent margin for me.
