I am looking at getting a PO box with Australia post.I would use the PO box for my mailing address when buying bullion and eBay, ect.Is the small size box (90mm x 130mm) a good option. What happens if I buy a monster box ,where would they store it if the PO box is so small.
just get the smallest size, they will put a card in the box for items to be collected. I would rather my PM's in the PO than in the POB
Looks like next time I'm down at the PO il hand in my application form for a PO box. I hope I get the PO box number 888.lol
officially it is 5 working days - 1 week - but they generally give a few days more than that No different to getting carded at home and having to pick up at the Post office. With my PO box, you can only collect carded items between 7.30am-9.30am on weekdays. There is a staff member that mans the room behind the boxes only for those 2 hours each day. Bit of a pain but I actually prefer it that way. If I have a package waiting, it sits in a locked room that only a few people access in the morning. I've picked up a carded package from a retail post office before, and the packages were just stacked up against the back wall and everybody working in the post office had access to them all throughout the day.
I've bought from 3 different dealers, all of whom said that they wouldn't deliver to a PO Box address, claiming security, and that their courier company doesn't do it. So check with your dealer first It doesn't make complete sense - the PO can still make you present ID and get a signature before handing it over, and courier companies like AAE do deliver to PO boxes... i guess they're just covering their asses or something
I have had couriers say that they do not deliver to po boxes, but when I'm not home it ends up at the post office anyway.
