Hello guys - ( no threads in the NUMISMATICS forum in long time - somethings gotta be done :) )

Just announcing that i have finally completed my

Russian silver coin collection by DENOMINATION - i am awaiting the arrival of a 50 Kopeek coin and a 1 Rouble coin from Riga in Latvia ( thanks to eBay )
(note on eBay : good for buyers, bad for sellers )

When they arrive will take a group foto and upload

    So,

    5 Kopeeks 0.8998 grams 0.500 Silver 0.0144 oz
    10 Kopeeks 0.5
    15 Kopeeks 0.5
    20 Kopeeks 0.5
25 Kopeeks - 0.900 silver 0.1446 oz ( strange that it is about 10 times heavier than 5 Kopeek )
    50 Kopeeks - 0.900 silver 0.2893 oz
1 Rouble - 0.900 silver 0.5786 oz ( note almost the same weight as modern Austrian 50 Schilling coins )

See below for the look of the 20 Kopeek coin, but group photo when the other 2 arrive.
I may even frame em and flip em back to some Oligarch from Vladivostok on eBay :)

Very nice, look forward to the Family Photo.

I have some Double Headed Eagles, I was wondering if they were Russian or Polish, mine are very worn so it is difficult to make out the writing. They look similar so I will have to dig them out.

Do check them out - some other Eastern European coins also feature the double headed eagle
    ( Montenegro too ).

The Poles should be using the Latin/Roman script on their coinage unlike their Russian & Montenegrin cousins.

Upload the foto and il look it up in the catalog if u like

So, what is the story of rider who kill the dragon in the shield? Is St. Gorge or some pre christian motive? Do u maybe know on which Russian coins it show up first?

I dont know who the Rider is. I presume it is some saint from within the Orthodox church.
I have seen the motif on coins from the 1700s.
