I'm picking up a box of PAMP 15 x 1kg silver bars this week from a reputable bullion dealer in Queensland.
    YIPPEEEEE!!
I'm wondering - should I open the box at the dealer and verify all numbers and matching certificates?
I've heard that possibly leaving the box untampered with, and the PAMP factory straps still intact, is easier to trade later.
What do you think? Thanks in advance for your advice.

If you want but if the dealer is reputable you shouldn't really have to,

If you're looking for an excuse to open the box, the person you eventually sell it to will be looking for an excuse to open the box too :)

Crack it open and have a peek. You won't lose any value doing it with this kind of bullion.

Its up to you. But any extra value you get by leaving it unopened surely wont be enough compared to the coolness of taking a peak.

+1 to all the replies prior to mine :)

I'm thinking though that in the future you'll be selling 'em individually so open the box up and enjoy your purchase.

If whatever is in the box weighs 15kg, and doesn't have space to rattle around, then it can only be silver.

The box adds a little value to me. About $5 all up, cause I think its a convenient storage size. Same thing for the green monster boxes for the ASEs.

Not a problem if you crack em open. And it doesn't matter about the certificates. Many dealers, when buying back PAMPS, don't keep them anyway, cause its a pain to match them up.

It wouldn't affect the liquidity of the monster box in my perspective, though not providing the PAMP certificates with individual bars would sorta put me off, just cos I like completeness. :p

I don't think an opened box will have too much of an impact on liquidity. Just sell it to somebody who isn't so super anal about it, silver is silver lol

I'd be looking to pay a discount for a box of 15, not a premium! They're not coins that might have an MS70 lurking in there somewhere.
