Tao 2009/2011

    I read one post wen i beginning with the panda fever
    A complete mini tao is 2009 to 2011 pandas
    But wen i learn more i saw the panda baby and mother begin in 2004.
    What is the razon to name tao a 2009 to 2011?

    Nice question, Thor! I want to know more about the taos also. First I thought a tao had to have 10 years like 1991-2000, but then came the 2009-2011, so what exactly is a tao?

    The Bamboo background started in 2009-2011 maybe?

    Just a guess I have no idea :p

    The "tao" is whatever you want it to be, "tao" is just "set" in Chinese.

    It is known as a Tao(group) because as stated the cub started earlier, it's to do with the pandas between two scene lines this started in 2009 and continues till 2012 who knows could last for more years yet.

    Lol I thought you were a bit slow this morning fishball but alas you beat me to it, yes it's the bamboo background.

    Two good answers. So what other taos can we identify based on things like bamboo backgrounds and such elements?

    The easy one is 2001/2002 same design
    2001 2001D same year but with and withouth D mark.
    2004/2012..... Mother and son

    Mother Panda + Baby Panda could be a tao I guess.

    2000-2011 could be one if you consider post-Y2K a set.

    Or a decade set of 2000-2009.

    However to simplify things, I just get one of every coin where possible ;)

    I have one of the tao of fishball.
    But i try to collect the premium fishy tao (ngc 69)

    Or, i just saw in CGC they r selling sets of 2010-2011 silver 1 oz Panda, and there is other set with 4 coins, i didn't remember years, and they didnt have this in offer 2 months ago...
