It appears Kitco have changed the source code again, so you will need to adjust your settings Goto Setup Page; Check the 'Edit Kitco Import' at the bottom of Page. Click the Fetch Button to load a copy of source code. Then adjust the line numbers (First Column.) This is current Setup Source:
Down the page on green Line# should read: 319; 547; 537; 267;187; 307; 321. Market = 520. If that helps.
My turn to have problems ... usually can find the new settings, but not this time. Anyone else having problems ? Sticks are you out there ?
Just went and checked - They have re-written the whole file - a lot harder to find things. will have a play around and get back shortly
Just had a play around - these numbers seem to work at the moment. When I get a bit of time to spare I may re-write the program and try to find a more reliable way to update it. At the moment Kitco are always jacking around with the code. Anyone know of a page or site that gives current spot prices and exchange rates - It might be easier if I lift the information of a page that doesn't change the code every few days
Hopeless - A few minutes after setting new numbers - they changed again. LOL then they changed back again. line numbers changed to (from top down) 690, 945, 119, 1098, 1062, 1098, 695 May be best to just enter prices manually - until it settles down or I re-write the program
Man I was NO chance of ever finding those numbers ! Sort of got it working on the latest numbers (won't post to main screen - I'll keep playing) ... anyone got a better source for Sticks ? This has been a wonderfully helpful tool Sticks. Thank you.
I had same problem for a while, just dicked around with code, made text boxes a bit larger to hold the bigger line numbers and then it posted okay. Just download a new patched version ( still ver 1.06) http://www.sticksplace.org/Dloads/Stacker106.exe
I think Kitco have won out ! Appears they are changing code numbers frequently and therefore it is problematic to keep up ... sadly. Thanks Sticks.
Had a look at that link today - The source file is unformatted and very hard to find info you want, but it did have some handy markers in it that I could use with string search. So I modified the program to search out the required items - seems to be working okay, All you need to adjust is the line numbers (52, 45, 45. ) Works with the Aussie exchange rate for other exchange rates you may need to move up or down a few lines. Also different is the exchange rate - Kitco always gave the USD to AUD rate this one gives the AUD to USD. I think I have made all the right changes, but check it out and let me know if I got it wrong somewhere. I suggest you install this to a different folder and copy your Database file and Int file across. Source: Just enter the line numbers, it will find the rest when you 'Fetch' the file. http://www.sticksplace.org/Dloads/StackerTest.exe
Hi Sticks, well that works perfectly for me. So will you be making a final version using that data? Also, is it possible to use the same sort of tool to extract traded option data from the ASX web site, such as here: http://www.asx.com.au/asx/markets/optionPrices.do?by=underlyingCode&underlyingCode=BHP I'm looking for something that would put prices in a more easy-to-read format as the way it's presented on the website is not really user friendly at all. I'm not sure how you'd get data on different URLs though? I'll leave that one to you! Thanks Sticks, love your work!
