Use of the term "Gold bugs" says a lot about his mindset.

What's he, a 'fiat bug'? A 'stocks bug'? Why don't we call the mainstream Aussie investors 'Property bugs' in the media?

Because the attachment of a the term 'bug' to any investment class ideology is considered derogatory, for use by those with a bias agenda against such investment ideology.

Pick any mainstream economic/financial commentator with an established negative bias against Gold and Silver and they'll ALL use the same term to describe those who do invest this way.

He's an advisor for the masses, not the educated and his rhetoric reflects it.

He's just hedging. I'd hardly call it enthusiastic and it's right at the bottom of the article preceeded by the far more important property investment suggestion.
