I would really appreciate peoples comments.
Has anybody got any thoughts on purchasing a set of 2012 Australia dragon 1 dollar coloured 1oz silver 9pcs coin set, apparently just for the chinese market.
What price would you think is fair? I can get my hands on a set but would love some advice.
    Thank-you

the official release price is 1100 AUD, so any price between 1100-1300 all fair enough.

Hi Nic, they are a bit gimmicky but there are a few people around who like the look of them. Are you getting them as an investment or for your collection?

The Australian ones are what, $115 each from the Post Office so anything around $1035 would be a bargain, chuck in the cost of a fancy box and postage from China and you would be looking at $1100+

Would be the dragon to get !

I'll have stock of the 9-coin sets at the end of next week and will be putting one or two up for auction with a reserve at (near-as) cost if anyone's interested - I've already sold several sets on pre-order for $1500-1600+ but wanted to make a couple of sets available to my mates here ;)

Do you have a source for that figure mate because when the sets started to be sold in CN they were approx (in USD) $750 - then $850 - then $1000 and now rising... as ex-China demand kicked in... I know two dealers in China whom I trust and they are selling most of their stock on export right now - There was no 'official release price' - pricing was it seems largely left to Taobao (China Coin?) to judge market demand & prices set accordingly...

i see... not out sure in real chinese market... that official release was came from a link that someone post in Lunar thread area, said 7,000 yuan or something (then he marked it approximatly 1100 AUD) that's all I've got currently about the real market price. probably your sources are more credible :)

Ps - I spoke to one of the German dealers I know on Weds who'd bought an EMS shipment of 25 sets - he sold all of them out within 2 days, selling for between 1300-1500 - but he'd paid way over the odds for them in the first place imho.

Hi, in your opinion, do you think the dragon set will do well going into 2012 and beyond? I don't know if the fact that there seems to be greater demand for the set (although presumably the demand is from outside China) will help propel the price further. It is possible to buy the set now at close to cost so wondering what the value might be for the future.
