Thanks. I can't phone from here, which is why I even bothered to spend so long trying on their pathetic ordering site. I agree about there being better value coins, but I have been trying to accumulate a few different dragon coins to to pass on to my son who will be born as a dragon. The PAMP bars do look good... plus I can get them from sites that work!

They wouldn't take my order over the phone. I tried twice on the phone today and about 1,000,000 times online.
I refreshed that page like a mofo this morning and tried to order as soon as they popped up. A whole day of farting around with the Perth Mint.

    One word..... shit.

Which ones were you guys after? - I am driving pretty much past the mint tomorrow morning and can drop by to see if they have left in the retail shop.

If they have any I'll put them up for auction tomorrow with a starting price at my cost. Are you interested? I don't want to buy these to not sell them as I don't want to keep them

asian people will buy the rectangle set but stay away from the 1/2 oz baby dragon. The dragon is ugly and it is the western dragon. not the asian dragon.

so maybe the 1/2 oz proof will apeal to the westerners more.

probably a good chance that the baby proof 1/2 oz might be the first dragon coin that will be able to buy below the pm buy price on flea bay when people try to flip it.

I have been past the mint and picked up a baby dragon proof and have it for auction as per my post 43.

I would have got a 4 coin set but they don't actually have them yet. The lady there told me they were taking pre orders.

heads up. Best to flip the coin on ebay germany or america.

Not australia unless you want less $$$
big difference in what people are willing to pay.

Wow! Just can't believe the crazy prices for this odd set. I didn't bother getting this release, I think for a quick flip they are doing great but can't see there being much longer term interest in them - but i've been wrong so far! :)

I recommend to start selling them now because in a week or so, you'll be seeing a flood on them on ebay

i beg to differ on that there is no interest in the rectangle set i reckon its better than the dragon typeset. and expected it do well. and given the low mintage. + better looking dragons than the dragon baby proof.

I tend to agree. Did not those square rabbits do okay? I recall no one really liking them on here.

I'm sort of looking at the bigger picture, the rectangle set aren't part of the official PM lunar series and as such, in my opinion, wont be overly sought after once the dragon hype has died down in a few months. The rabbit rectangle set has only just become unavailable at the mint - I suspect the only reason it sold out was because of the release of the dragon, the rabbit set can be bought on ebay for release price still.
The current high prices will only last until stock is fully shipped out from the Perth Mint, exactly the same happened with the bullion 1oz release, typesets, and coloured proofs to much the same extent - those who had stock on day one make a fortune, but price settles down quickly once the flippers have saturated the market - have you noticed how many coloured dragons and typesets for sale on ebay! its almost embarassing! :)

I really like the look of the rectangle dragon, is cute, colourful and reminds me of kids movie Mulan. I try to purchase numismatics that I think will aprreciate well over the years, and look good to me - this set passes one but fails the other for me :)

u can tell when coins do well if they are sold out at dealers and at perth mint. completely different story when pm sold out but dealers still have loads of them. typesets are still doing well. just dont sell them in australia ebay. where the asking price is to low compare to asia, germany and the us.

apmex(american dealer) is selling the dragon typet at around $1000 so if you sell the typeset on ebay us at $900 u will be able to get a buyer real quick.

How do you list on American Ebay? Do you log into US ebay and list from there? I thought that US buyers can still see your listing on Ebay Ausstralia.
