    1oz Tiger Mintage: 300,000

    2oz Mouse Mintage: 9,126
    2oz Ox Mintage: 18,570
    2oz Tiger Mintage: 63,005

    5oz Mouse Mintage: 3,005

Who in there right mind would pay $350 for a 5 oz lunar tiger (ugly picture IMO) when you could buy a 10oz dragon for the same price.. you would have to be totally mad IMHO... oppertunity cost of buying a OZ tiger over 2x5 oz dragons or one 10oz would create so much cognitive dissonance i dont think i could stay sane.. Given that over the long run the dragon will outpace the tiger anyway... its ludacris

    $350 and you could buy:

    10 2012 kooks? (almost) OR
2x5 Oz dragons (but currently OOS)
5 2012 One Ounce Silver Bullion Dragons OR
    7 2011 Pandas

    Hi,

3 bullion dragons for the price of one proof dragon at issue price? I think not. Well if you pre-ordered from BB @40 per unit then maybe!

In your example .. id always choose the bullion.. i only get the expensive coins as a function of spot once the prices have gone back down to earth.. i dont have enough money to spend on pretty coins with that will go down in future years.. dragons may be the exception..

But $70 per ounce for an ugly non-proof non-limited edition 5 oz'er? WTF? Now thats speculation..

IMO the lunar series big bullion seems megaly overpriced... i was happy to get $490 for my S1 10oz Lunar Dog recently.

Your entitled to your opinion, but just because you wouldn't pay, doesn't mean there isn't 10 people lined up behind you willing. If you wouldn't pay it, then dont buy it, simple. Consider this though, as soon as dragons go back into production they may make 1 million of them, where-as there will not be anymore tigers minted. This fact alone puts the tiger at a much higher premium than a dragon IMO.

Investing in silver no matter how you look at it, is speculation, so whats your point?

    To each his own......

Still no mintage figures for the colorized bullion coins despite the mint promising to release these over a year ago and no rabbit mintage either now they are out of production the last couple of months.

I guess we should be thankful they finally have released the tiger mintages.

You don't see too many for sale recently. I bought one a week ago for $250, and it was the first one I've seen available in a while. Apmex and Gainesville have them for well over $400, but I just can't see paying that kind of money for the 5 oz with the highest published mintage. I expect the dragon to be at least double, if not more, than the tiger at 14.553.
