Just called the retailer in Shanghai, and was told the lunar dragon was arrived. Left the company early in order catch the dragon. 1/2oz, 1oz, 5oz, and 9 dragons set, each had two available. Bought the 5oz and 9 dragons set, here are the pictures. However, the release price in China is not cheap.
Without knowing the price that actually looks pretty good. Did the PM release them here or just for the Chinese market?
I certainly hope Perth Mint will release this 9 coin colored set to those in Aussie as well! Are the 9 colored coins proof?
Ron Currie said at the Perth meet that the 9 coin set was being made for the Chinese market and I'm pretty sure won't be released here. I stand to be corrected on that though - just what I remember him saying. The coloured red looks to be the same as the specimen type.
It is said 20,000 sets on the COA. My observation it is specimen type. For the 9 coin set, the official release price is RMB6680, which is about AU$1100. I am not sure how many sets will be allocated to Shanghai, but sure it will be hot. I will make a call to the retailer tomorrow.
I find it funny. The funny part is an Australian company selling dragon products back to China. Well done Perth Mint!
Not to forget that a lot of people wish a Chinese company to sell them back to Australia! (or somewhere else)
I will try to take more photos. Any detail parts are you focusing on? Please don't blame me about my poor technique. Regards, Claude
Excellent presentation, Perth Mint. If I were into the coloured coins, I would probably buy something like this.
That is complete BS from our favorite Mint, I want that set so bad. Stop giving me reasons to dislike you
New here but I just bought two sets from a dealer here in Germany. Not a far off price from what the issue price. I should get them in two weeks
