Sold one on here last night for $2380. since offered $2500 for another but not selling that one. I thought It would have had a lot more demand but not on SS. Hindsight It may have been better to throw it on ebay
Edit that was just a 1kg proof not gemstone

Does anyone know if the almighty mint will be imposing limits on how many typesets/gilded/coloured one can purchase? And do we think the website can handle the level of attention again?

What kind of price range do the older 1kg gemstones go for? (eg. 2009 ox)

Typeset demand will be insane. I heard from a guy who was in at Downies yesterday that they got an allocation of only 5 sets or something crazy.

I was at the mint on Friday. Limit of 1 per person for colored and typeset and 5 per person gilded. Will have to get the family down to get more of these again.

RE the website. I think it will be the same as last time.

When I called in my order for the gilded, the lady from Perth asked me if I wanted it in a box because they don't come in one. (I assumed they came in a box because I thought the website showed them in a box). Anyways, I think it was about a $7 difference but not 100% sure on that because I couldnt understand that part of it. I just wanted to transaction to go through as fast as possible as I didn't want to miss out on the typeset so I said yes, I'll take it in a box. I bought one typeset, one colored 1oz proof, one colored 1/2oz proof, and one gilded in a box and my total was right at about $600USD (including $25 shipping to the states).

The PM website info for the individual capsulated gilded coin says:

"The mintages are divided between capsulated coins and coins available in individual presentation packaging. For further information, click the relevant link below:"

To me this says total mintage of 50,000 is split between boxed and free-range.

AUSTRALIAN LUNAR SERIES II 1OZ GILDED EDITION 12-YEAR COLLECTION (COINS IN CAPSULES)

Each release is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, which can be stored in a compartment underneath the removable coin tray in the display case.
    ................
This is from Perth Mint info spiel in regards to the gilded Lunar 1oz. If you wanted to collect the set and put them in the series display box then you can buy them for only $103.50 It seems that for a couple of dollars less you don't get the red and black case but still get numbered certificate.
